Don Johnson
A member of the NAHS class of 1979, Don earned his B.A. in Psychology from The College of the Holy Cross
(’83), where he played defensive back for the Crusaders. Don joined the NAHS football staff in 1983. He
serves as defensive coordinator and coach of the linebackers and running backs, and he is the head of the
NAHS History/Social Studies Department. Don and his wife Patti have three children: Regan (17), Dan (14)
and Patrick (9).

Paul Sullivan
Paul Sullivan rejoins the staff as offensive coordinator and defensive ends coach. Sully was a
long-time assistant under Coach Ray Beaupre before taking over the reigns as head coach from
1997 - 2003. During Sully's tenure as head coach, North won 5 Hockomock League Championships, 4 Super
Bowl Championships and 7 Hildas. Paul recently retired after over thirty years as a history teacher,
coach and athletic director in North Attleboro.

Jack Johnson
Jack graduated from NAHS in 1980 then attended Avon Old Farms School (’81) before earning his B.A. in
Psychology from Amherst College (’85), where he played baseball. Jack joined the football coaching staff
in 1988, and he now coaches quarterbacks, receivers and defensive backs. He is also the head of the NAHS
English Department. Jack and his wife Janet have two daughters: Julianna (11) and Meredith (9).

Derek Herber
Derek is a 1991 NAHS graduate who joined the Big Red coaching staff in 1997. He is the varsity offensive
line and defensive ends coach. A 2001 graduate of Westfield State College, Derek participated in track and
field while earning his B.S. in History. Herb is a member of the NAHS History Department who enjoys
reading in his spare time.

Andrew Mingo
Andrew is a 1994 graduate of NAHS who joined the football coaching staff in 1998, after earning his B.A.
in Government from Western New England College. In addition to his duties as a freshman assistant coach,
Ming teaches Social Studies at the North Attleboro Middle School, and he enjoys traveling and yard work.
Andrew and his wife Jami have a 5-month-old son named Drew.

Chris Perron
Chris attended Spring HS (Spring, TX) before enrolling in Attleboro HS, where he graduated in 1984. He
earned his B.S. in Physical Education and participated in track and field while attending Rhode Island
College. A Phys. Ed. teacher at NAHS, Chris joined the football staff in 1990. He currently serves as a
freshman assistant football coach and Head Boys Basketball coach. Chris and his wife Denise have three
children: Justin (15), Ryan (12) and Danielle (10). Chris enjoys summer travel and camping.

Jason Feid
Jason graduated from NAHS in 1991 then attended Plymouth State College, where he earned his B.S. in
Physical Education and Health (’96). He also participated in football and track and field. He joined the
NAHS football staff in 1996, and he is the current freshman head coach. Jason is a Phys. Ed teacher at NA
Middle School and an avid sports fan. He and his wife Leslie have two children: Julia (6) and Colby (4).

Ken Nally
Ken is a 1986 NAHS grad who joined the coaching staff in 1989. He coaches the scout offense and defense.
Ken is the owner and president of Nally Associates, Inc. Ken and his wife Jessica have three boys:
Patrick (10), Brandan (9) and John (7). He enjoys relaxing with his family, golf, basketball and
socializing with friends.

Neal Beaupre
Neal is a 1989 NAHS graduate who joined the coaching staff in 2005. In addition to overseeing the scout
defense, “Boomer” coaches the centers, defensive tackles and kickers. Neal is Sports Director at the
Hockomock Area YMCA. He and his wife Kathleen have two children: Alexandria (7) and Jake (3).

Tony Calcia
A 1974 NAHS graduate, Tony joined the staff in 1993 after several years as a member of the “chain gang.”
Tony helps coordinate the scout teams, but he is best known as the producer and director of our annual Big
Red Football Highlight Film. Tony is Vice President of Operations at the Hockomock Area YMCA. He enjoys
travel, movies, theatre and singing.

Alan Foster
Alan is a 1997 King Phillip HS graduate who earned his BS in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams
University (2002) and his Masters in Special Education from Lesley University (2007). He played football,
baseball and rugby in college. Alan is a teacher in the Community School EXCEL Program who joined the
NAHS coaching staff this fall. He is an assistant coach of the Freshman team, focusing on the offensive
and defensive lines. In his spare time, Alan enjoys golf.

Wayne Hitchcock
Wayne is a 1975 NAHS Grad, played def. tackle for the Red Rocketeers in their super bowl victory game in
1974, has been the EMT for the Red Rocketeers for the past 7 years, He has one son, Kyle , who is a 2006
graduate of NAHS and a former Red Rocketeer football player. Wayne is a member of both the NA Fire Dept.
and the Plainville Call fire Dept. He plays Hockey twice a week.

Nick Chagnon
Nick is a 2007 NAHS grad who co-captained the 2006 varsity. He joins the Big Red staff as a volunteer
Freshman assistant coach, working with the offensive and defensive linemen. Nick has begun working
toward his degree in Special Education at Bristol Community College and hopes to become a high school
or middle school teacher. When he's not coaching and attending to his academic commitments, Nick
works part-time at Stop & Shop and enjoys reading and video games.

Carl Hebert
Carl Hebert joins the coaching staff as a volunteer assistant working with QBs, receivers and the
scout teams. Carl is a 1978 NAHS graduate who quarterbacked the 1976 and 1977 Red Rocketeers. After
high school, Carl played quarterback at Stonehill College while earning his B.S. in
Marketing/Management in 1982. He currently works as a key account manager. Coach Hebert is married
to Jeanne (LaFontaine) Hebert ('80). They have three children: Kaitlyn ('06), Madison ('08) and C.J.
('10).

Ryan VanDeGiesen
Ryan VanDeGiesen is a 2004 NAHS graduate who quarterbacked the Big Red to a thrilling 44-40 Super Bowl
victory over Swampscott in 2002. Ryan graduated from Curry College in June 2009, majoring is
Business Management and enjoying a successful collegiate career as a quarterback. Ryan is working
with the QBs and scout teams. He currently runs Giesens All Seasons Services, specializing in
painting and home repairs. Coach Van enjoys reading in his spare time.
