Don Johnson (Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator)
A member of the NAHS Class of 1979, Don earned his B.A. in Psychology from The College of the Holy
Cross ('83), where he played defensive back for the Crusaders. Don joined the NAHS football staff
in 1983. Entering his third year as head coach, Don serves as defensive coordinator as well as
coach of the linebackers and running backs. In addition, Don is the head of the
NAHS History/Social Studies Department. Don and his wife, Patti, have three children: Regan (21),
Dan (18) and Patrick (13).

Paul Sullivan (Offensive Coordinator)
Head coach from 1997 – 2003 and a long-time assistant under Coach Ray Beaupre, Paul rejoined the
coaching staff as offensive coordinator and defensive ends coach in 2009. During Sully's tenure
as head coach, North won 5 Hockomock League Championships, 4 Super Bowl Championships and 7
Hildas. Paul recently retired after over thirty years as a history teacher, coach and athletic
director. He is the current Varsity Baseball coach at NAHS.

Jack Johnson
Jack graduated from NAHS in 1980 then attended Avon Old Farms School (’81) before earning his B.A.
in Psychology from Amherst College (’85), where he played baseball. Jack joined the football
coaching staff in 1988, and he now coaches the quarterbacks, receivers and defensive backs as well
as various special teams. He is the head of the NAHS English Department. Jack and his wife,
Janet, have two daughters: Julianna (15) and Meredith (13).

Derek Herber
Derek is a 1991 NAHS graduate who joined the Big Red coaching staff in 1997. He is the varsity
offensive and defensive line coach. A 2001 graduate of Westfield State College, Derek
participated in track and field while earning his B.S. in History. Herb is a member of the NAHS
History Department who enjoys reading in his spare time. He is also the head Spring Track coach at
NAHS. Derek and his fiancé, Jessica, are planning a summer 2012 wedding.

Ken Nally
Ken is a 1986 NAHS grad who joined the coaching staff in 1989. He coaches the scout offense and
defense. Ken is also the owner and president of Nally Associates, Inc. Ken and his wife, Jessica,
have three boys: Patrick (14), Brandan (13) and John (11). Nal enjoys relaxing with his family
and socializing with friends in his spare time.

Carl Hebert
Carl joined the NAHS staff three years ago as a volunteer assistant working with QBs, receivers,
defensive backs and the scout offense. Carl (NAHS '78) quarterbacked the Big Red in 1976 and
1977. After high school, Carl played QB at Stonehill College, while earning his B.S. in
Marketing/Management in 1982. He currently works as a key account manager. Coach Hebert and his
wife, Jeanne (NAHS '80), have three children: Kaitlyn (23), Madison (21) and C.J. (19).

Jason Feid
Jason graduated from NAHS in 1991 then attended Plymouth State College, where he earned his B. S.
in Physical Education and Health ('96) and participated in football and track and field. He joined
the NAHS football staff in 1996, and he is the current Freshman head coach. Jason teaches Phys.
Ed. at the North Attleboro Middle School and is an avid sports fan. He and his wife, Leslie, have
two children: Julia (10) and Colby (8).

Andrew Mingo
Andrew is a 1994 graduate of NAHS who joined the football coaching staff in 1998, after earning his
B.A. in Government from Western New England College. In addition to his duties as a freshman
assistant coach, Ming teaches Social Studies at the North Attleboro Middle School, and he enjoys
traveling and yard work. Andrew and his wife, Jami, have two children: Drew (4) and Grant (2).

Alan Foster
Alan is a 1997 King Philip HS graduate who earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams
University ('02) and his Masters in Special Education from Lesley University ('07). He played
football, baseball and rugby in college. He is a special education teacher at the North Attleboro
Middle School. Alan joined the freshman staff in 2009 and currently coaches QBs and the defensive
line. He and his wife, Amy, have a son, AJ, who is one year old.

Matt Ames
Matt is a 2003 Walpole HS graduate who played football for four years at Olivet Nazarene
University, where he earned his B.A. in Biology ('07) and his Masters in Teaching ('09). Matt is
entering his second year as a freshman assistant coach and HS Phys. Ed. and Health teacher.

Wayne Hitchcock
Wayne is a 1975 NAHS grad who played defensive tackle for the Red Rocketeers in their 1974 Super
Bowl victory. Hitch has served as EMT for the Big Red for the past 10 years. He and his wife,
Patty, have one son, Kyle ('06), who was a four-year member of the Red Rocketeer football program.
Wayne is a member of both the NA Fire Dept. and the Plainville Call Fire Dept. He enjoys playing
hockey in his spare time.

Tony Calcia
Tony graduated from NAHS in 1974 and joined the staff in 1993 after several years as a member of
the "chain gang." Tony scripts the offense and defense during games, but he is best known as the
producer and director of our annual Big Red Football Highlight Film. Tony is Vice President of
Operations at the Hockomock Area YMCA. He enjoys travel, movies, theatre and singing.

Brad Dean
Brad is a 1981 NAHS grad who played offensive and defensive line for North. Brad is entering his
second year as a volunteer Freshman assistant line coach. After high school, Brad served 8 years
active duty with the U.S. Coast Guard before joining the NA Electric Department, where he currently
serves as Meter Supervisor. Brad and his wife, Tammy (NAHS '81), are the proud parents of three
NAHS grads: Megan (24), Amanda (23) and Tyler (18).

Michael Hart
A 2008 NAHS graduate and All Hockomock League lineman, Michael joined the coaching staff last year
as a volunteer line coach. He is currently a senior at Bridgewater State University, majoring in
Mathematics and hoping to begin a career as a high school teacher and coach. Michael enjoys
golfing in his spare time.

Barry Gaumond
Barry played four years for the Big Red before graduating in 1989. He was a recent inductee to the
Attleboro Area Football Hall of Fame. Barry currently runs his family's business, Gaumond's Auto
Body. Barry and his wife, Beth, have two children: Kyle (14) and Ryan (10).

Ryan VanDeGiesen
Ryan is a 2004 NAHS graduate who quarterbacked the Big Red to a thrilling 44-40 Super Bowl victory
over Swampscott in 2002. Ryan graduated from Curry College in June 2009, majoring in Business
Management and enjoying a successful collegiate career as a QB. Ryan assists the QBs and receivers
as well as the scout offense. Ryan currently operates Giesens All Seasons Services, specializing
in painting and home repairs. He enjoys reading in his spare time.

Neal Beaupre
A 1989 NAHS graduate and the current Sports Director at the Hockomock YMCA, Neal joined the
coaching staff in 2005. He serves as a game-day "eye in the sky," focusing on interior line play.
Neal and his wife, Kathleen, have two children: Alexandria (11) and Jake (7).

John Sullivan
John is a 2002 NAHS grad and four-year Red Rocketeer who played football for four years at
Bridgewater State University, where he earned his B.S. in Exercise Science ('07) and his M.S. in
Strength and Conditioning ('09). John is a game-day scout who focuses on the pass game. He
currently works as Strength and Conditioning Coach at Athletic Based Training in
Holliston/Milford.
